DEFINING A BRAND

a brand and its business purpose....the promise

You may ask why it is important to for businesses to create a strong brand. The answer is in what branding says and implies without visual reference. Originally, the term "brand" was used for referring to the mark that cattle ranchers "branded" on their cattle and the idea of a brand has evolved to encompass much more than just a name or a symbol. The marketing terms "brand" and logo" are often used in an interchange manner. A logo can be the symbol of a business, but it is not the entirety of a brand. In fact, the creation of a graphical logo is just one small step toward developing a strong brand identity. Your marketing strategy is about more than just your logo, name and strapline. An effective branding strategy responds and changes according to the market situation such as the emergence of new social media and the fast-shifting trends.

Even within the UK`s building industry there are hundreds of thousands of brands all trying to be identified, so possessing a strong brand has become crucial for businesses to differentiate themselves from their competition.

So, what is a brand, well quite simply, it is a promise. It is what everyone from customers, employees, suppliers, and the media expect when they engage with your business. And building the brand is closing the gap between what you promise and what you deliver. A successful and strong brand is one that has the correct alignment between the promise and the execution. Remember, your product or service leaves an impression on your customers long after you've made the sale. Brand identity is the process of shaping that impression. Now you may ask why the brand identity is so important.

Your brand is the face of your business and it’s the identity that gives it more authority and presence in the market. A brand that establishes a face, and maintains that face consistently over time, it develops credibility among its competitors and trust among its customers as they agree with what your brand has to offer. But once these people become customers, that same brand identity gives them a sense of belonging. A good product generates customers, but a good brand generates advocates. And brand advocates sell your business for you, like an extended sales team. You may not be Microsoft or Apple but through research and analysis of your organization we identify an area of meaningful differentiation and consistently deliver against it, creating new business opportunities.
